The Children's Corner Dual-Language Preschool Program
The Children's Corner Dual-Language Preschool Program offers licensed, dual-language preschool services to Spanish and English speaking children ages 2 to 5 living in Firebaugh and surrounding rural Fresno County communities. This culturally congruent, enriched program emphasizes language and literacy development in both English and Spanish. The Children's Corner program strives to promote bilingualism and cultural awareness while challenging children to learn the same key concepts and standards taught in mainstream preschools. In this setting, children have the opportunity to acquire a new language without sacrificing their native tongue. This program also serves as a model program for creating sustainable partnerships between early childhood education programs and school districts located in rural communities where high quality early learning opportunities are scarce.

Bright Futures
The Bright Futures program provides research based parenting education to at-risk pregnant and/or parenting youth with children ages 0-5 incarcerated at the Juvenile Justice Campus in Fresno County. This support is intended to strengthen the development of positive relationships between teen parents who are involved in the juvenile justice system and their children, preserving the bond between the incarcerated teen mothers, fathers, and their children. Pregnant and/or parenting teens are provided with one-on-one parenting education, postpartum depression screenings, developmental screenings for children, and referrals to community resources that will further enhance their ability to achieve self-sufficiency and safe and nurturing environments for their children.
