KCUSD Family Connections The KCUSD Family Connections program implements the Save the Children's Early Steps to School Success model, providing individualized home-based services for families with children 0-3 years old in rural east Fresno County. Domestic Violence Services Support Marjaree Mason Center is Fresno County's only provider of domestic violence shelter and supportive service. Each year, more than 200 children, age 0-5, find safe haven at the Marjaree Mason Center. Marjaree Mason Center's supportive services include: individual and group therapy for adults and children; legal assistance, including assistance filing for child support, and child custody; and 24-hour crisis support.This support helps empower women and their children to make informed choices to live free of domestic violence. Del Rey Infant Learning Center The Del Rey Infant Learning Center provides high quality, developmentally-appropriate child care for children birth to three years of age. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredited program also offers parenting education, connections to resources, and additional services to families as needed. In addition, the program provides technical assistance to early care and education professionals pursuing quality improvement and national accreditation. The Infant Learning Center is located in the small, rural community of Del Rey, where most families live in poverty and have a multigenerational history of poor educational outcomes. Priority enrollment is given to children in foster care, teen parents, immigrant parents, CPS referrals and children with special needs. The program is based on Best Practices in Early Care and Education with the overall goal of enhancing the resilience and school readiness of the infants and toddlers served. Funded by First 5: Yes |
