The Children’s Movement is a local and state-wide effort to organize parents, child advocates and our community to speak with one voice on behalf of our children.

"It's not about being right or left, it's about our kids."

What is the Children’s Agenda?

In Fresno County our efforts should be centered around the Children's Agenda which focuses on six areas.  Our goal is to ensure the following happens:

  • Communities and Families are ready for children
  • Nurturing parents and caregivers
  • Children are ready for school
  • Healthy, safe and secure youth
  • Engaged and connected youth
  • Youth prepared for life

What is the goal of The Children's Movement?

The Children's Movement of Fresno County’s goal is not necessarily to ask for more resources. We exist to challenge leaders to think about how their decisions impact children and to get them to make decisions that are in the best interest of our children.

Why is The Children's Movement needed?

Leaders are making decisions that impact our children, but because children have no voice, their needs are not being addressed.

Additionally, when most people hear the word "policy" they tune out because it is difficult to see the connection between their lives and policies.  But there is a direct and powerful impact and people need to see that.  See how policies are hurting or helping these three Fresno families:
