Background
Thank you for engaging in First 5 Fresno County’s 2025-2030 strategic planning process! Your participation is critical to the development of our next strategic plan and beyond. Thank you for taking the time and making space for us to share and hear from you.
Every First 5 Commission is responsible for developing a strategic plan to guide local funding decisions and efforts that align with local need and the original intent of Proposition 10 – to promote, support, and improve the early development of young children.  We are currently in the last year of a five-year strategic plan.
In recognition of the many strategic plans, community needs assessments and data collection efforts recently concluded or currently underway in Fresno County, regionally and statewide, the initial phase of strategic planning focused on reviewing and analyzing existing data related to young children and their families. Our staff partnered with Harder+Company Community Research, to review a wide range of data sources and reports to identify key challenges facing families with young children.
Based on the initial data review process, we’ve developed an initial draft of a strategic plan framework. Through listening sessions, online surveys and community conversations we will gather themes to directly inform a final version of a 2025-2030 Strategic Plan by June 2025.
